Independence Day Message From The Director

Today we celebrate the 72nd Independence Day of our great Nation. On this joyous occasion I convey my greetings and good wishes to all the NITK fraternity, alumni and well-wishers. Today is a day of immense joy and happiness when we all gather to celebrate the day of our Independence.

Today, India is looked upon as the largest and most vibrant democracy in the world.  In recent years India has been well known the world over for its achievements in several fields, particularly in the arena of Technology. Our country is witnessing unprecedented economic growth at this point in time.

The economic growth of a country  not only depends on natural resources, technology and capital but also on the quantity and quality of manpower. India compared to most other countries, has a relatively young working age population. In order to exploit this advantage, India needs to make this young population economically productive through affordable quality education and skilled to meet the future challenges. The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) have been recognized as the institutes of national importance for their standard of higher education and research in engineering and technology.

In National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, an Institute of National Importance, we are the custodians of an extra ordinary legacy of intellectual and material culture. In the days to come, we have to prove that NITK is more worthy of its legacy, aspirations of its people, its alumni, and its region. Our pathway to this goal to be energy, enthusiasm, warmth, wonderment and above all a feeling better than any other. Our students, alumni, parents, friends and all best wishers of NITK all together lend our voice to the great mission and vision of this Institute to be worthy of our great legacy.

In this auspicious day of 72nd Independence Day of India our heart beat with pride, to see the colors of Independence Day spreading happiness and great joys all around. May the glory of Independence Day Be with us forever.

Jai Hind
